"Specimen II" is part of a series exploring ideas of body, medicine, biology, mechanics and our relationship with technology. An wire bound ambiguous specimen is encased behind a sealed bloody and scarred screen

The failure of the human body is something that I explore through painting and sculpture. My visceral series “Organic Flesh Machine” combines pseudo biological items with electronic and electrical ‘found objects' embedded into the canvas. In the final sculptures the surgical combination of machine and flesh are realised, challenging the viewer to question whether these are images of surgical enhancement, medical necessity or sadistic torture.
